Ensure you recap on the basics of Ergonomics and Anthropometrics from GCSE, then look at how they can be applied to be Inclusive.
Critically Analysing Ergonomic Features
You need to be able to analyse the features of different products, to do this well you should have a thorough understanding of why products have been designed in certain ways.
First break a product down into it's separate components, let's take a travel mug as an example;
First break a product down into it's separate components, let's take a travel mug as an example;
Next let's think about how the human body will be interacting with each component;
Then think how easy would it be to do those things?

Then think about materials - how does the choice of material effect it's use?
Think about anthropometric data - how has the data been used? What percentiles will have been focused on when designing a product?
- Body - stainless steel outer - this could get hot but the inner would probably reduce this
- Inner body, lid and base - could be a thermoset or possibly ABS to reduce conduction of heat

Inclusive Design
You may get asked about how a product has been developed or potentially could be developed for people with different needs, for example;

Human Factors Top Tips
- Always plan your answers - create a Double Bubble with Positives and Negatives
- Imagine you actually using the product
- Look for areas that have been specifically moulded for humans (bumps, ridges, hand guides)
- Always justify your answer with why that make something easier to physically use or less likely to cause injury
- Which percentile measurements will have been used? Which were excluded? What is the impact?
